The Yellowstone Quake's offense had a big night, peppering the Helena Bighorns with 56 shots throughout the game. The Yellowstone Quake took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Ian Doner.
Riley Buller contributed with 2 goals and Cole Stewart delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Dane Rieger had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 assists.
During the first, Kottmeier opened the scoring for Helena with a goal at 17:06 with helpers from Seitz and Rieger. Stewart quickly followed with a goal at 18:28 with helpers from teammates Stewart and Waszczenko.
In the second, Cline answered for the Bighorns with a goal at 4:13 with assists from Rieger and Lindberg. Ford answered for Yellowstone with a goal at 6:46 with assists from his linemates, Proffitt and Johnson. Doner put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:32 with helpers from Stewart and Rasmussen.
In the third, Buller netted a goal at 15:01 with helpers from his linemates, Willoughby and Moore. Buller deposited a goal at 19:38 with assists from his linemates, Ford and Johnson.
The Quake’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Waszczenko’s big night as he stopped 32 of the 34 shots he faced. Waszczenko’s counterpart, Battaglia, also had a big night, managing to stop 51 of 55, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Yellowstone Quake’s record to (3-0-0-0).
