Head Coach

As new Head Coach/GM Chris Blaisuis continues to rebuild the Quake roster into a playoff team. Part of that rebuilding process was the recently completed NA3HL Draft held on April 20th 2022. When Blaisuis was hired on April 4th, the Quake had just 2 picks in the draft neither of which included a their 1st round pick. Through a series of trades the Quake ended up with 8 overall draft picks including the 1st and 3rd overall picks in the draft.

With the 1st overall pick , acquired in a trade with the Austin Ice Bats, the Quake selected 6’3 195 lb 17 year old defenseman Wyatt O’Donoghue from Lincoln, IL. O’Donoghue spent the 2021-2022 season playing AAA hockey for the St Louis AAA Blues U16 team.

With the 3rd overall pick, acquired in a trade with Sheridan Hawks,  the Quake selected 6’0 175 lb 18 year old forward Brendon Wolesky from Rochester, MN. Wolesky spent the last 3 seasons playing for Dodge County High School in Minnesota.

After having two of the first 3 selections the Quake were quiet in the draft until midway through round 3 where Quake selected 6’0 180lb 18 year old Greenville, SC defenseman Drew Bailley 78th overall from the Carolina Rage U18AA program

With its 2nd 3rd round selection Blaisuis went with someone very familiar to him, selecting 5’11 190 lb 18 year old Zionsville, IN forward Liam Donovan from the Indy Jr Fuel U18AAA program.

The Quake were busy in the 4th round with 4 selections. With their 1st selection in the 4th round the Quake selected 6’2 180 lb forward Landon Becholt 104th overall from Dayton, OH. Becholt spent last season playing for the Dayton Stealth.

With their 2nd pick in the 4th round, 110th overall, the Quake continued to bolster the blue line with the selection of 6’2 200 lb 18 year old defenseman Javan Hodge from Rochester, MN. Hodge played the last 4 seasons for Rochester Mayo HS.

With their 3rd pick in the 4th round, 133rd overall, the Quake selected 6’3 170lb 17 year old forward Brooks Wright from Kearney, NE. Wright has spend the last 2 seasons playing for former Denver University Head Coach George Gwozdecky at Valor Christian HS in Denver, CO.

With their final pick in the draft 134th overall , Blaisuis went back to a familiar face selecting 6’0 180 lb 16 year old forward Gabriel Reindl from Zionsville, IN. Reindl has spent the last 3 seasons playing AAA hockey for the Indy Jr Fuel in the NAPHL.
