Jack Moore and Nolan Willoughby had big nights with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) and 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) respectively as the Yellowstone Quake crushed the Gillette Wild 7-3 in a home game at Spirit Hall Ice Arena in Yellowstone. Furthermore, Reid Waszczenko came up big, stopping 35 of 38 shots throughout the game. The Yellowstone Quake took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Ian Doner.
Ian Doner had a busy night with 2 goals and Riley Buller did his part, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). Brooks Mitzel chipped in with 2 assists.
During the first period, Doner opened the scoring for the Quake with a goal at 9:41 with helpers from his teammates Willoughby and Walworth. Buller deposited a goal at 15:20 with helpers from Stewart and Pelto. Ford netted a goal at 19:20 with assists from his linemates, Proffitt and Moore.
In the second, Morey finally put the Wild on the board with a goal at 2:37 with helpers from his linemates, Walters and Eastep. Doner answered for the Quake with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:11 with an assist from Moore. Oberg quickly followed with a goal at 10:42 with helpers from his linemates, Mitzel and Peterson. Willoughby answered for Yellowstone with a goal at 13:11 with assists from Stewart and Buller. Varty answered for Gillette with a goal at 19:05 with helpers from his linemates, Mitzel and Thompson.
In the third, Buller answered for the Quake with a goal at 15:16 with assists from his linemates, Willoughby and Moore. Moore deposited a goal at 19:02 with helpers from Willoughby and Sievek.
Yellowstone’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Waszczenko’s big night as he stopped 35 of the 38 shots he faced. Waszczenko’s counterpart, Pilely, also had a big night, managing to stop 45 of 52, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Yellowstone Quake’s record to (29-6-2-0).
