Medical Staff
Player safety is the top priority of the Yellowstone Quake. Our organization is extremely proud of the professionals that contribute their time and skills to keep our players safe. In addition to the monitoring, they receive throughout the year, our players are also provided with baseline exams/tests at the beginning of each season to provide medical examiners a more complete history should they be necessary. Each player receives free of charge:
- professionally fitted custom mouth guards
- eye screening
- concussion test
- dental screening
Kelsey Kolstad, PT, MPT, OCS, LAT, ATC, CKTP – Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer
Kelsey has been an integral part of the medical staff of the Quake for the past 8 seasons, serving as the team’s Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist. Kelsey attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. He has worked as a Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer in Cody since 2003. Kelsey is currently working for Canyon Therapy. He has completed certification in Kinesio Taping, a specialty certification in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and is working toward a specialty certification in Sports Medicine Physical Therapy.
Amanda Kolstad, PT, DPT, CKTP – Physical Therapist
Amanda has worked with the Quake for the past 8 seasons. Amanda attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND where she received her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. She has worked a Physical Therapist for 11 years. Amanda has worked at Canyon Therapy for the past 5 years, where she sees a variety of patients from sports medicine, orthopedics, geriatrics, and women’s health. She has completed certification in Kinesio Taping, and LSVT BIG which focuses on improving strength and balance for patients’ with Parkinson’s disease.
Adam Peters, MD – Team Physician
Specialty: Family Medicine Medical School: University of Washington Residency: McKay-Dee Family Medicine
Dr. Peters is a family practice physician who can take care of a wide range of medical problems that team players may face. From infections, to lacerations, to minor musculoskeletal problems. Dr. Peters has been helping with the Quake Hockey Team since 2007. Though a resident of Cody, he is an employee of Billings Clinic, which is the region’s largest health care organization and as such has direct referral access to multiple specialties if necessary. His interests outside of medicine include family, church, camping, hiking and fishing.
Andrew C. Trunkhill, NP – Team Physician
Specialty: Family Medicine Medical School: Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa
Andrew Trunkhill is originally from Humboldt Iowa. He earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City Iowa. Following his education he began practicing as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner for Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg Iowa, later operating his own clinic under Palo Alto County Hospital in West Bend Iowa. He has over 25 years of nursing experience in a variety of settings including medical/surgical, operating room, and surgical intensive care.

Jimmy Edwards, PA-C – Orthopedic Physician Assistant
Education: Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Jeremy & Jamie Hill, DDS – Team Dentist
Hill Family Dentistry, PC is a licensed, insured, and locally owned family dentistry clinic offering a variety of oral care services, from cleanings and whitening treatments to fitting dentures and prosthesis.
Jonathan Hartley, OD – Team Optometrist
Dr. Hartley is a Wyoming native who was born and raised in Worland, Wyoming. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in molecular biology from the University of Wyoming before beginning his formal optometric training. In 2007, Dr. Hartley graduated valedictorian with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California. He completed his externships at the Optometric Center of Los Angeles, Eye Care Associates of Nevada, and at the Indian Health Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. In 2007, he joined Basin Vision Center. Dr. Hartley is currently serving on the board for the Wyoming Optometric Association and is a member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Hartley is married to his beautiful wife, Brooke, and has three children. They enjoy spending time hiking and fishing in the Beartooth Mountains and doing home projects.
James H. Bell, OD – Team Optometrist
Dr. Bell began practicing in Cody, Wyoming at Basin Vision Center in 1991 after graduating from Pacific University’s College of Optometry in Oregon. While in school, he received training in all areas of optometry. He is a member of Wyoming Optometric Association and is active in the American Optometric Association. He has prepared and given a presentation regarding glaucoma for the Wyoming Optometric Association. Dr. Bell is certified in Corneal Refractive Therapy, Refractive Surgery Co-Management, and Systemic Pharmaceutical Therapy. Dr. Bell is on the Northwest College Alumni Board and the St. Anthony’s Church Board. Dr. Bell and his wife, Stefanie, have eight children.
