Billings downs Yellowstone in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Cody Phillips gave the Billings Bulls a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Yellowstone Quake when he scored 38 seconds into the extra period.

Phillips had two goals to lead Billings to victory.

The Bulls kept Yellowstone\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Sean Leahy made 35 saves on 38 shots. Billings was held back by its power play unit, which tallied one goal on 11 chances.

Colter Endy also scored for Billings. More assists for Billings came via Dexter Nealy, who had two and Christian Akita, Orri Haman, Tristen Heinrichs, and Nik Nasby, who each chipped in one.

The Quake were often in penalty trouble, totaling 12 minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. Yellowstone surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. The Quake\’s offense rang up 36 shots on the Bulls\’ net.

Yellowstone was helped by Sawyer Scanlan, who grabbed one goal. Scanlan scored on the power play 51 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Yellowstone. Jaden Sveinson provided the assist. Yellowstone additionally got points from Josh Neumann, who also registered one goal and one assist.

Billings\’ isaac tjaden stopped 34 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Bulls ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major. The Quake registered two goals on eight power play opportunities.
