Vazquez to Join NAHL Ice Dogs

The Yellowstone Quake are proud to announce Alex Vazquez will play for the North American Hockey League's Fairbanks Ice Dogs during the 2011-2012 season.

Vazquez, a native of Shelby Township, MI, posted 22 points and 277 penalty minutes while playing in 75 games for the Quake during the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons.

On May 8, 2011, the Ice Dogs scored three goals in the final six minutes of the game for a 4-2 victory against the Michigan Warriors and win the Robertson Cup Finals championship game, claiming the USA Hockey Junior A Tier II national championship.  Starting its 36th season in 2011-12, the North American Hockey League is the USA Hockey only Tier II Junior A circuit with its 28 teams ranging from Alaska to western New York.

With palyer development a priority for the Quake organization, the 2011-2012 team's players expect to follow Vasquez into higher levels of play.
