The Yellowstone Quake's offense had a big night, peppering the Missoula Junior Bruins with 50 shots throughout the game. The Yellowstone Quake took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Kobe Kitagawa and never looked back.
Cole Stewart did his part, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Ian Doner delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist).
During the first, Cook opened the scoring for Missoula with a goal at 5:18 with a helper from his teammate Cottle. Doner quickly followed with a goal at 5:42 with helpers from Walworth and Stewart. Buller deposited a goal at 9:48 with an assist from defenseman Stewart. Kitagawa quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:27 with assists from Shuldt and Johnson.
In the second, Stewart answered for Missoula with a goal at 2:56 with a helper from Akatnov. Stewart answered for the Quake with a goal at 5:43 with an assist from Doner. Stewart deposited a goal at 14:11 with a helper from defenseman Rasmussen. Doner scored a goal at 17:11 with assists from Stewart and Sievek.
In the third period, Ford netted a goal at 4:48 with helpers from his linemates, Moore and Buller.
Yellowstone’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Persson’s big night as he stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced. Persson’s counterpart, Wiest, also had a big night, managing to stop 26 of 32, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Yellowstone Quake’s record to (8-2-1-0).
