Reid Waszczenko came up big, stopping 32 of 33 shots throughout the game. The Yellowstone Quake took the lead early in the second on a goal from Justin Dumont.
Riley Buller chipped in with 2 goals and Jack Moore contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the first, Buller opened the scoring for Yellowstone with a goal at 17:24 with helpers from Stewart and Doner.
In the second period, Dumont put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 1:32 with assists from his teammates Pelto and Sievek. Doner netted a goal at 14:50 with a helper from his linemate Johnson. Moore deposited a goal at 17:41 with assists from Sievek and Doner. Johnson quickly followed with a goal at 19:21 with helpers from Shuldt and Kitagawa.
In the third, Cunningham finally put Missoula on the board with a goal at 10:58 with an assist from fellow Junior Bruins forward Moistner. Buller quickly followed with a goal at 11:53 with helpers from Stewart and Steyaert. Stewart netted a goal at 16:13 with assists from Ford and Moore.
The Quake’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Waszczenko’s big night as he stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced. Waszczenko’s counterpart, Thomas, also had a big night, managing to stop 40 of 45, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Yellowstone Quake’s record to (50-7-0-3).
