Reid Waszczenko came up big, stopping 44 of 46 shots throughout the game. The Yellowstone Quake took the lead late in the first on a goal from Ian Doner and never looked back.
Ian Doner had a busy night with 2 goals and Jack Harris chipped in with 2 assists. Ryley Cook did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Parker Todd contributed with 2 assists.
In the first, Dumont opened the scoring for Yellowstone with a goal at 9:11 with helpers from teammates Buller and Walworth. Doner quickly followed with a goal at 10:21 with helpers from his linemates, Pelto and Harris. Doner deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:20 with assists from his linemates, Harris and Pelto.
In the second period, Cook finally put the Junior Bruins on the board with a goal at 11:32 with helpers from Todd and Cunningham. Akatnov netted a goal at 17:56 with assists from Todd and Cook.
In the third, Kitagawa answered for the Quake with a goal at 2:07 with helpers from Stewart and Ford. Johnson deposited a goal at 19:46.
Yellowstone’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Waszczenko’s big night as he stopped 44 of the 46 shots he faced. Waszczenko’s counterpart, Thomas, also had a big night, managing to stop 31 of 35, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Yellowstone Quake’s record to (14-2-1-0).
