Mitchell Pijanowski had a hat trick for the Quake (1-4), and Matt Schulz netted two goals in the third period. Alex Johansons sealed the win with an open-net goal, after the Generals (4-3) pulled their goalie at the end of the game.

The Generals jumped to a three-goal lead late in the second period, before Pijanowski scored twice heading into the third.

After Schulz and Pijanowski scored in the third, the Generals tied the game on the power play with 5:30 to play. Schulz found the back of the net again with four minutes to go to put the Quake up 5-4.

With less than a minute to play, Johansons tacked on the go-ahead goal, and the Quake left Eugene with a 6-4 win.

The Quake played like they were ready for a win Sunday night, after starting the road trip Oct. 5 with three losses to the Southern Oregon Spartans (4-1) and one to the Generals.

In game one, the Spartans jumped on the Quake at RRRink in Medford, Ore. Southern Oregon took a 6-0 lead late into the second period, before Yellowstone found the back of the net.

The Quake's Schulz, Pijanowski and TJay Lozier scored goals, but the comeback was stuffed after two late Spartan scores. The Quake dropped the game 8-3.

On Oct. 6, Schulz scored in the first and third periods, but the Spartans scored six times in between, taking the game 6-2.

The Spartans completed the sweep Friday night with a 6-3 win against the Quake.

Southern Oregon jumped on the Quake early, taking a 3-0 lead just 10 minutes into the game. The Quake's Zach Tuchklaper scored late in the first period, but Yellowstone couldn't keep up with the Spartans, who added another before the end of the first.

Josh Little netted a goal for the Quake in the second, but the Spartans answered with a one of their own. In the third, the Quake's Darek Scott added another, but the Spartans found the back of the net again, finishing the game with a 6-3 win.

The Spartans kept Quake goalie Dom DeGuiseppi busy, taking 130 shots on goal in the three-game series. The losses sent the Quake to Eugene winless, for a two-game series against the Generals.

In the first game, the Generals took a 2-0 lead, but the Quake were able to tie it up with goals by Drew Parus and Little. In the third, the Generals sealed the win with two more goals for a 4-2 victory.

The Quake return to Cody for a two-game home series against the Butte Roughriders on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 21-22. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. at Riley Arena.

Southern Oregon makes the trip to Cody the following weekend, for a three-game series, Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 27-29.
