Marty Quarters has been looking for quality individuals that want to be part of a great 2008-2009 season. The Yellowstone Quake would like to welcome the following tendered players: Matt Prigge, 6`2", 190 defenseman Soo Indians Midget Major AAA. Matt is a California Native who played the last two season in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan with John Watkins. Matt is a big lanky defenseman who takes up a lot of space, strong in front and in the corners, hard to beat one on one, has the ability and skill to make the 1st pass, heavy point shot, solid penalties killer, and is known for his open ice hip checks. Matt will be a top 4 d-man because of his strong defensive play, great size, and his ability to keep it simple and make smart plays with the puck. Tyler Boyce, 6`2", 185 forward Havre Montana High School. Tyler is a big strong power forward with strong hands, ability to win battles down low, quick hard shot coming off the wall, and smart in both zones. Tyler is from the same hometown as former Quake player Tyson Anderson. Tyler`s size, skating ability, skill, and strong work ethic will make it possible for him to make the jump from (Montana) High School hockey to Jr. A. Josh Royston, 6`2", 185 wing from Compuware Midget Major AAA. Josh comes from the Powerful Compuware program out of Detroit MI. The Lansing native is a former teammate of fellow tenders, Watkins, Mingo, and Stansik. Tall and lanky with a good reach and quick stick, Josh is a goal scorer who likes to drive the net and win battles in the corners. Josh has a quick hard shot, protects the puck, skilled hands, responsible in both ends of the ice, and does not back away from the physical part of the game especially when it comes to sticking up for his teammates. Josh is a solid shot blocker who has the discipline to kill penalties, and skill to work the half wall on the powerplay. Michael Martin, 6` 1", 170 Goalie, Pittsburg Hornets Midget Major AAA. Michael has good size, square to puck, quick legs, outstanding glove and is a proven winner. He moves well side to side with good rebound control. Michael should be able to step in immediately and has the potential to control any game. Michael excels on the ice and the classroom and will be an outstanding addition to the community. Nick Winebrenner, 5`11", 170 center Pittsburgh Penguins Junior "B" EJHL Nick is a skilled center with great hockey sense, smart in all three zones, strong skater with good edges, good hands, great ice vision and passing skills, ability to take key faceoff`s, and can kill penalties and work the point on the powerplay. Nick has two years of Junior experience (EJHL All-Star) with top level coaching. Played his youth hockey for the Pittsburgh Hornets AAA and was a member of USA Hockey Mid Am Select teams. Nick is a quiet type who leads by example with a great work ethic, and is a avid fisherman. Kevin Sandhu, 6`1", 165 forward from Detroit Country Day School Kevin is a skilled center, with gifted hands, great passer with outstanding vision, puck skills to make plays in tight, ability to snipe, and plays with passion. Kevin is also a outstanding student and plans to be a doctor after his playing days. Kyle Stansik, 6`2", 208lbs defenseman from Victory Honda Midget AAA. Kyle is a big strong D-man who can make the 1st pass, hits hard, strong in front of the net and in the corners, with good feet, quick stick, and hard to beat one on one. Kyle is also a very good student. Dajon Mingo, 5`10", 165lbs center from Victory Honda Midget AAA. Dajon is a skilled center that has worked with the coach the past three summers at hockey school in Detroit. Makes his teammates better, gifted offensive skills (2nd leading point scorer on his team), strong on face-offs, and will be a fan favorite. Dajon is a proven winner having won league, State, USA Tier 1 nationals, and the pee-wee world championship in QUÉBEC with the powerfull Honeybaked AAAA Hockey Club. John Watkins, 6`, 190lbs Wing from Soo (Michigan) Indians Midget AAA. John is a former teammate of Stansik`s, hard-working and forchecking forward can also play defense, scores goals in front of net, quick and hard shot, wins battles down low, strong skater, finishes his checks, plays solid in all three zones, and has loads of character (was his teams captain). Jackson McCue, (Cheyenne native) 6`, 195lbs D-man Texas Attack Midget AAA. Jackson is a punishing open ice hitter, great feet, speed, point shot, loves to hit, hard as nails type, and can pass or skate the puck up ice. Jackson is a natural leader and has been a captain on almost every team he has played for.
